Hello! I am undergraduate student currently working on an annotation for the F1 phage "Rita." Gene 84 (start: 50945 stop: 51550) is an orpham (pham 76575). However, on DNA Master, BLAST data for phages of a different pham (pham 8247) are present for this orpham. I was curious if anyone had any insight on if I should utilize this BLAST data in my annotation as I am unsure. Thank you so much! |

Hello all, I am undergraduate student currently working on an annotation for the F1 phage "Rita." One gene, from 40872 bp - 41237 bp, has "HIT family protein" assigned to the same pham in other mycobacterium. However, HIT family protein is not an approved function for phage genes. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on whether or not I should assign this function to the gene. Thank you! |
