Hi Debbie, Yes, the other students were able to auto-annotate using the fasta file posted on phagesDB. I’ve never seen the “not a sequence form” error message before so I thought it might be an issue with importing the file. I’ll go ahead and have the student re-install DNA Master and see if that works. Thanks for your help. Nancy |

Hi Debbie, A student keeps getting a "not a sequence form" error message when downloading the FastA file into DNA Master. Yes, that is correct. We clicked on File - Open - FASTA multiple sequence file. Yes, the file is a text file with a .fasta file name. We have not tried a different Fasta file. We only tried downloading the file from phageDB website as a text file and then received the error message. Thank you, Nancy |

Does anyone know how to resolve a "not a sequence form" error message when uploading a FASTA sequence file? |

Hello, I am working on phage Ganymede_Draft and looking at Gene 1. There doesn't appear to be a Starterator report for Gene 1 start site. I noticed there was a discrepancy in the gene family number. On phamerator, I can see that this gene has a different family number, 73206, than it does on phagesdb.org (74409). Anybody know how I can get the starterator report for this gene? Nancy |

Hello, I can't seem to download the DNA Master program from my virtual machine on my MAC computer. I have followed the DNA Master installation guidelines and when I click on the DNA Master link on the http://cobamide2.bio.pitt.edu/computer.htm site I get a blank screen. Nothing happens. Any ideas on what I am doing wrong or any suggestions? Thanks! |
