Phamerator/PECAAN map diferences

| posted today, 17:26
Hi,

Cluster FC phage Phrampa shows 292 auto-annotated genes in PECAAN and the PECAAN Pham map, but the Phamerator website shows 322 genes. There appears to be genome duplication from gene 286 to the end. How should we proceed? Thanks.

Hi Brian,
The difference in the gene count is that PECAAN is not counting tRNAs.
I don't believe that there is a gene duplication per se. regardless, that is why the curation work that you and your students do is so important! Happy annotating!
Best,
