Founded in 1881, Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (ACPHS) is a private, not-for-profit educational institution with a 30-acre, eight-building main campus in Albany, NY, satellite campus in Colchester, VT, and Pharmaceutical Research Institute building in Rensselaer, NY. Located in the New Scotland section of New York State's capital city, ACPHS is surrounded by its academic neighbors Albany Medical College, Albany Law School, and Sage College of Albany, as well as the New York State Department of Health’s Wadsworth Center laboratories. Over the last decade, the College has moved toward greater programmatic diversity while maintaining pharmacy at its core. To that end, ACPHS has developed science-based, career-focused undergraduate and graduate programs. After starting as a single degree-granting institution in pharmacy, the College now has ten programs, all based on a rigorous approach to the sciences and focused on preparing students for careers in the health sciences. Consistent with the College’s commitment to excellence, ACPHS has been rated highly in several recent third-party rankings of student outcomes. In 2015, the Brookings Institution ranked ACPHS as number-one in the country for value-added to student outcomes. In 2018, the Wall Street Journal ranked ACPHS first in value using a similar methodology. According to the US Department of Education 2018 College Scorecard, the median salary of ACPHS students ten years after enrolling is $124,700, the second-highest among the 3,871 colleges and universities that make up the College Scorecard database, and the highest among private schools.
