The AR:CURE project is excited to announce it’s 2019 synthetic biology faculty workshop June 16 to 19, 2019, hosted by Ouachita Baptist University (Arkadelphia, AR). This 3-day workshop will give faculty expertise to begin a Course-embedded Undergraduate Research Experience (CURE) at their institutions. This workshop is 100% funded through an NSF RII Track 1 EPSCoR Grant. There is no cost associated with this workshop. Additionally, funds are available to offset a portion of travel expenses. Faculty from regional two-year undergraduate institutions, HBCUs, HSIs, and Tribal Colleges are strongly encouraged to apply.

We are now accepting applications (until January 2019) at : https://obu.edu/biology/arcure/

The workshop will focus on the techniques of BioBrick assembly, molecular biology, and bioinformatics. A strong focus will be put on classroom implementation strategies and pedagogy. We will supply faculty with the training, logistical support, and supplies (plasmids) to begin a synthetic biology CURE at their home institution.

Prior experience in synthetic biology is not required.

We have a new NSF funded RCN-UBE centered around using cell tissue culture as a CURE.

From the beginner, "I do not have a hood," to the seasoned expert, the CBEC will provide financial and technical support related to the incorporation of cell culture into the undergraduate classroom. If you have an idea or desire to learn cell culture techniques, please do not hesitate to join our community. www.cellbioed.com

We are now accepting applications to fund your ideas. Visit our website (www.cellbioed.com) or contact Nathan Reyna (reynan@obu.edu) if you have any questions.

We are now accepting applications for the AR-CURE Synthetic Biology CURE Workshop. https://www.obu.edu/biology/arcure/

The AR:CURE project is excited to announce a synthetic biology faculty workshop June 17 to 20, 2018, hosted by Ouachita Baptist University. Synthetic Biology involves genetically reprogramming bacteria as functional devices for human benefit. With improvements in DNA synthesis and assembly technique, undergraduates can design and test new DNA parts, devices, and systems with widespread applications.
