I am trying to blast all genes on my genome and the process gets to about 33% and then stops and a (Not Responding) appears at the top of the page. I can close the file and start over and the same thing happens–part of the genome gets blasted and then it halts and stops responding. Any idea what is going on? I am using DNA Master on Windows within Virtual Box (obviously I have a mac). Thanks for any help you can offer.

Dan, One of our students is having trouble loading virtual box on his Mac Book Air (M1, 2020) Mac OS Monterey version 12.1 He gets this message: "Unsupported hardware architecture detected! The installer has detected an unsupported architecture. Virtual box only runs on the amd64 architecture”. The information on the web is confusing in terms of the ability to run virtual box on the M1 macs. Some seem to claim a workaround, others say there is no way to run VB on this type of Mac. Do you have any ideas how to help hime?

Thanks!

I am trying to set up windows on a virtual box on my mac and during the set up I am asked to enter a PIN–once I hit that page my mouse does not work any more..I cannot type anything from my keyboard when I could for every previous page (entering an email and a password). Any idea why this froze up? I can move the mouse on the screen and it jerks around rather than makes fine movements. When I get in the text box I cannot type anything. Thanks for any help you can offer

Thanks to both of you for getting back to me. I will check the setting preferences and update the version of DNA master I have.

The picture you posted looks like you are running an old version of DNA Master. Mine version of that tab looks like the attached. You should double check that you have an up to date version of DNA Master. I just checked and it says: Version 5.23.3 build 2693 from 26 November 2019 which it reports is up to date.

Thanks for your help Chris,

Nancy
