ASM produces a weekly podcast called Bacteriofiles. In episode 359 (Oct 29, 201 Mycobacterium phage Athena was chosen as microbe of the week. The “Phage Hunters” program is also briefly described. You can hear the episode here.

I've a student who has been unable to install DNA Master on her personal computer. She's running Windows X. During installation she gets the error "Could not access network location \Doc." This one is new to me. Has anyone experienced this error before? My preliminary googling leads me to think this is an issue with her Windows installation but I'm not eager to send a student off to troubleshoot their registry. She contacted Microsoft support but they were quick to blame the program. |

Our IT dept has refused to give us admin privileges to update DNA master. I'm trying to get one of them to come out and update the program on each machine. We've noticed an issue. When the students open the RBS window on these non-updated non-admin computers they cannot modify the scoring algorithms. Does anyone know if this is due to the program not being updated versus not having admin access? I can probably fix the update issue, but the admin access is a no-go. |
