Hi all, I am having an issue with uninstalling DNA Master. I had some students install the program in the wrong directory and we are all having the same error message. I have posted a screenshot below. I have tried a few times uninstalling from the control panel and I keep getting this error message. HAs anyone gotten this message before, and how can I fix it? Thanks! Levi Storks |

Hi Levi, I am not sure I have ever seen this. Did you just try deleting it? If you are installing it in a different location, it may not matter. best, debbie |

I have not tried deleting it exactly - I am a bit nervous about doing that. If I delete the folder that the program is installed in, do you think that will remove the program from my computer? I can try and report back. Levi Storks |

You can install in a different place (like your desktop) and see if that works, then delete the old stuff. |

So I tried delete of the DNA Master folder, but that did not help. The Install Wizard only gives me three options (Modify, Repair, Remove). Remove doesn't work, and the other two options don't let me change my directory. Any other ideas about where I can turn? Thankfully my installation is fine, but my students can't use DNA master on their machines due to installation in the wrong drive, and I would hate for them to have this program stuck on their machine now. |

Here are the only options given by the installer when I open it. |

I'm getting the same screen with those three options and no way to change my directory either….were you able to find a solution? I've been going in circles for longer than I'm going to admit and I'm super frustrated….![]() |

Are you sure that you want to uninstall? If you are clicking on DNAMaster.exe instead of DNAMas.exe you will be asked to uninstall. You do not want to do that. DNAMaster.exe is the installation program, but DNAMas.exe is the program. Once downloaded, you can delete the DNAMaster.exe file. Carefully follow to the installation guide on phagesDB. Let me know if that helps. debbie |

Hello, When I went to acquire DNA Master (from https://phagesdb.org/DNAMaster/) to add to a new computer, I get the proverbial spinning wheel of death as the computer tries to connect, eventually followed by "This site can't be reached" page. Tried using different browsers with same result. Is DNA Master down right now? |

Hi Christy, Yep. It looks like the DNA Master website is down. (I've made an inquiry.) You can find the program that is needed in this forum post. the program is on Kristen Butela's One Drive. Kristen was posting a work around that is not needed, so get the program from her one drive and then closely follow the installation instructions found oh phagesDB. https://phagesdb.org/DNAMaster/ Best, debbie |
