Tail Assembly Chaperone- Translational Frameshift

| posted 03 Jun, 2023 16:11
All AS phages found so far have a tail assembly chaperone preceding the tape measure protein with a programmed translational frameshift. The tail assembly chaperone is typically found in the left arm of the genome around gp13-15. It is a -1 frameshift: G_GG.G_GA.A

I think I have found a frameshift in HamCheese tail assembly chaperone protein. I watched the helpful video for inputting a frameshift in DNA master but am still getting an error message.

Gene 13 5'- 9060 to 3'- 9413
Gene 14 5'-9386 to 3'- 9784

The GGGAA runs from 5'- 9383 to 3'-9387

In the regions table for gene 14 I added the table (for which the length is divisible by 3)
Start: 9060 Stop: 9383
Start: 9383 Stop: 9784

However, when I press validate I get an incorrect region count.

Can anyone help me find the error I am missing?

Can you show what's on the "Regions" tab for the gene? I'm guessing that the lengths for each region are possibly not correct there.

Of course! Regions screen shot attached

Hmmm - I don't see anything wrong there. The screenshot doesn't show the bottom of the page, but does it show the two regions as bars? As well, does your description page for the gene have the correct start/stop for the longer product, as well as "2" in the regions box? It seems odd that the "incorrect" notice doesn't show any coordinates, just zeroes.

I wish I was able to be more helpful!

Hi all,
Here are my 2 cents. See attached.
