Hi, I purchased 2 brand new Promega Wizard DNA Cleanup Kit. After warming up, both kits' resins had this black seed/mold-like stuff at the bottom. Is this normal? I added a picture here. Best, Rocky |

rocky2I'e never seen that before, Rocky. I'd be surprised if that was microbial growth since that solution is a very strong denaturant. In any case, it might be worth returning it. |

We have found the same black stuff in our Wizard kits. One person used it, and it seemed to work fine. But, have you contacted the company? I was going to do that today. |

I just checked with Promega. They said "The dark gray and black particulates in the Wizard DNA Clean Up resin is not a contaminant. This is a component of the manufacturing of the reagent. In fact, We provided this note, under appearance, on the Certificate of Analysis for this product:" |
