DNA Master: BLAST All Genes, or Just One

Have an auto-annotated DNA Master file? Want to see if your new phage's genes match anything in GenBank? Dr. Welkin Pope walks you through how to use DNA Master to BLAST a single gene, or the entire set of genes, and save the results in your DNA Master file.

Recorded by and starring Welkin Pope. Edited by Dan Russell.

DNA Master: How to Auto-Annotate a Phage Genome

Dr. Welkin Pope demonstrates how to use DNA Master to create a first-pass phage genome annotation, including genes and tRNAs, in under 5 minutes.

Recorded by and starring Welkin Pope. Edited by Dan Russell.

Graham Hatfull's Keynote Address at the 2015 SEA-PHAGES Symposium

The sixth annual SEA-PHAGES Symposium took place in June 2015, and this is a recording of Dr. Graham Hatfull's keynote address to the assembled SEA-PHAGES students and faculty. In this talk, Graham discusses what we've discovered about Mycobacteriophages, the benefits of expanding to other Actinobacterial hosts, the "lumpy pudding" model of phage diversity, and the potential and limitations related to using phage therapy for treating TB (including some initial experimental results).
